*** I am currently looking for someone who would be interested in transporting our kitties to their vet appts to get spayed and neutered. I live close to the Polaris mall, in Lewis Center, and the kitties would be going between SOS of Ohio or The Capital Area Humane Society. I just need someone to pick up and drop off for me. I am happy to give you gas money to transport them. My number is 614-832-2015. Ask for Lynn! Thanks!!***

Angels Assisting Felines

We are a cat rescue.
See "About Us" for more information on our mission and background. Our primary focus is to help as many cats as possible. We are an easy organization to work with. Our adoption and foster program is simple. No red tape to slow down the process. Come and visit the cat or kitten that you are interested in and have a short interview. Occasionally we require a home visit based on the interview, but in most cases be prepared to take your new pet home the same day.

The Short Version: This is a truly heart, soul, physically and financially committed, HANDS ON Rescue. Mary Et Al goes above the line of duty to save these little soul’s lives. About me: animal angel but never rescuer from DC/FL/abroad, amid own urgent critical medical and financial hardship right now and every other Rescue Organization turned me down for help in effectively rescuing these two freezing kittens although I do have a lot of people to thank in the process, especially who suggested I call Angels Assisting Felines. Because Mary took ownership! One kitten was dying in my hands, the other was very weak. And she shared her own antibiotics to save Happy (Taz was lucky I rescued her 2 weeks before) then made and came through with no-cost OSU spay arrangements and is now committed to find them a Forever Together Home, with someone who adores and treats them not as animals but as family, in health and sickness, till death do everyone apart. These two babies are truly human! they follow, sleep and play with me, truly lap kitties. Thank you Mary, God bless you! And if anyone reading this would like to be a Forever Responsible & Loving, Parent & Protector, Home & Family for these two co-dependent precious spirited trusting fun-loving little sibling souls Taz & Happy, for good bad or indifferent, in health & sickness and away from any circumstances or inconveniences (moves, allergies, babies and the sort) please contact me GBejarano123@gmail.com Tel. 703 931 5006 or photos and visitations to get to know them or contact Mary. They are stunning! lap babies. The Long Version: I was first introduced by a neighbor then dumped into stressing for these two precious 3-4 month kittens struggling to survive 1 degree over Zero temperatures alone in the ice, rain and snow of a worn-out thicket/bush in a predatory nature preserve where--had they not made dinner for (or killed by) coyotes and other animal and human predators in the area, they would have surely helplessly died in the worst pain, hungry, frozen, alone. Originally 7 kittens I am told abandoned by their mother; 5 were killed by cars trying to find food near the dumpster of a busy nearby apartment community. These 2 --now Taz (for Tazmenian Devil) & Happy (Go Lucky)-- were somehow barely surviving but not for long. So in poor health, major crisis & hardship, high risk myself, from DC/FL not knowing a soul in OH, I submerged in a reckless rescue regardless. I recruited my partner who works 8-10:30pm and visited the bush twice daily. Neighbor help built a model Kittie Shelter (2 in fact) a feeding station, hot water, dry food, Temptations and sardines! to lure them. An amazing operation, wish I could post photos. Desperate to rescue them, sometimes flirting with them until 2:30am, we called, they answered, ran across the bushes to meet us while chasing & tripping each other and cried for help. Until one day prior to another drop in temperature, there was only 1 and cries were heartbreaking with such anguish, volume and desperation I armed myself with a live trap (not knowing how to use it and dreading the betrayal) provided by another caring Rescue Organization, sardines and we trapped little Taz. But happy was walking the roads in search of food, then coming back to Taz and NOT buying into this trap! wherever we put the trap, she would leave to end up right in front of us doing all sort of tricks for us up: climbing trees, rolling in snow, did you ever watch the cartoon RoadRunner? That! And right before the next freeze, the neighbor who had both traps went MIA. I was determined to get Happy that night before the freeze, who remained onsite due to Taz’ smell (fresh poop I deposited next to rescue shelter) along with warm water, foods, Temptations treats, toys. I sat on the floor in the rain, she showed up, we played. She came close, I failed. She reluctantly gave me a second chance and I caught her with my HANDS she almost ripped me apart. She was determined, but so was I. Taz & Happy were reunited--Taz very sick and Happy was dying in my hands-- I don’t know how she managed to climb trees, run and do tricks for us.  I called Mary to share the news! Mary gave me antibiotics for Happy, I nurtured them back to life with Pedialite, freshly chicken soup with lots of olive oil, Happy’s little body was in bones, shut down (no poo or pee for 5 days) had Miralax, I thought I was losing her but once she did there was hope again. Mary was supported me every step of the journey and she was there to provide no-cost spay. At the writing of this note --complications and all-- I can safely say they both made it and they are the most adorable lovable friendly tender kittens on God’s creation—both lap kitties—they follow you, groom you, sleep with you, speak with you, long for you. But they also depend on each other for Everything! Eating, playing rambunctiously, grooming each other, they are Yin and Yang, I’ve nurtured them back to life, loved, trained, made them perfect lap kitties for someone who will adore them like us Together in a Forever Home & Family, in health and sickness, regardless of circumstances, till death do everyone apart. Unfortunately, my own future is uncertain, I want the best for them.

This is a wonderful rescue. I can not say enough about how they helped me find my Samuel. I needed a kitten/cat to be able to turn into a therapy cat. She reach out even to other organizations and was able to me find him. In two days we have bonded and I am truly blessed to have meet Mary and her rescue

About 2 months ago I came across a GORGEOUS little boy kitten looking for a forever home. The second I met him I knew he deserves somewhere loving and permanent. Once I brought him home to my new place, he was immediately joyful and playful..as any kitten should be. I named him Caspian and since then he has literally been my best friend. We take naps together and he sleeps in my arms or next to me EVERY single night. I was on medicine for depression previously before meeting him..diagnosed professionally I might add. Since I adopted Caspian I've stopped taking my medicine and find myself purposeful even on days when I may not see the point. This isn't a sob story. I just never realized what people meant when they said "Who saved who" referring to their pets. Caspian changed my life and I hope to improve his for the better. Thank you Mary. For everything <3

I brought a stray in from the cold winter weather without realizing she was pregnant. On April 5, she gave birth to 4 beautiful kittens. I have tried, to no avail, to find homes for these babies. I am allergic to cats but continue to seek homes for them. My plan was to get the mother fixed before this could happen again. Before the babies were fully weaned, she became restless and ran out one evening. You guessed it. She was, apparently, in heat. She, again, gave birth to six kittens on August 14. They have just opened their eyes. I cannot keep one, let alone, 11 cats. I have called shelters and tried to reach rescues (often without a response). I even drove to cat welfare. It was terrible and they wouldn't take them anyway. Does anyone want a kitten or have any suggestions? The older are all indoor, well mannered kittens. They are very loving. I listed them on CL this morning out of desperation as Zi am moving in two weeks and cannot take any of them with me. Please help if you can. Grammy1962@hotmail.com

My ex dropped off a cat at my house and moved out of town and I haven't heard from him since... she's a very shy kitty n needs a home because we can't keep her but I'm scared if we take her somewhere they'll put her down because she's not very nice at first and I don't know what to do. I'm not aloud to have cats where I live... I need help. Please email:snowwhite2500000@gmail.com

I've been blessed with a cat from Mary. My precious Lola came to me in January 2015. She's my baby and best friend. She follows me everywhere I go. Friendly and cuddly. My daughter adores her. Mary and I have kept in contact over the last year plus. I fostered another kitten, that I found, until Mary could find a home for her. We managed to get the kitty vaccinated and fixed before moving her to her new home, thanks to Mary. She has the best intuition when placing these kitty's in a home and a big heart. Thanks so much to Mary. It'll be an experience never forgotten.

Sounds like a wonderful organization. Do you ever deal with ferril cats?. We have done TNR with a couple but are feeding 2 others who have not been fixed. One just had kittens. Haven't had any luck trapping her. Would appreciate any help or advice.
